Went to the Menil today, and Nick recorded this improv in front of one of the sculptures. I'm not sure what the rules are on outdoor art, and there were no signs- so I avoided touching the piece at all.
Today I got to perform Afternono at the West Oaks Art House with Suchu Dance. Then, Nick and I played in the pool- and actually did some improv partnering. It was super fun, and I asked Nick if sometime we could do it again for the blog. We shall see if I can convince him to dance on camera.... So now, I am quite tired and in the need of a video to post. Nick suggested as a joke- "why don't you improv with your face?" So I did, and here it is....
I suffered for this art- little did I know that the mosquitos feasted in this area. I noticed them towards the end- hence all the swatting. Nick was watching the Poland/Greece soccer game in background.
So it seems that silly me didn't push the publish live button yesterday. But believe me, day 14 did indeed happen yesterday, even if the post date says today. Moving on to today (June 7-Day 15), this was my experiment with light in my bedroom closet. Maybe I'll try tomorrow with all the lights out.
I've made it two weeks! I must admit that today's improv is not the most creative.....In fact, I threw my version of a hissy fit the last minute or so. Jazz music did not inspire me (Sound Lee by Lee Konitz and Take the "A" Train by Duke Ellington). I was tired, didn't feel like dancing, and quite frankly frustrated by my lack of creative juices. But my goal is to make exploring a habit. And so, as not all explorations are fruitful, I present today's improv.
I'm getting up close and personal with my house. Note to self: clean the floors first.
